RECOMMENDED MATERIALS

RPET

Low cost, clear, high strength, made from recycled material, easily curbside recyclable. Recycling resin ID code 1

PVC (Clear)

Highly durable and reusable. Better heat resistance than other materials and can be steam sanitized. Recycling resin code # 3. (note: the other materials can be cleaned with soap and warm water but will warp or degrade if exposed to temps above 150F).

HIPS (Black Utility Grade)

Lowest cost option. Good choice for parts trays and shipping trays. Recycling resin ID code 6.

ABS

Solvent resistant. Capable of withstanding mineral oil exposure. Stronger than HIPS. Similar cost to HIPS. Multiple colors available. Excellent choice for “pick and place” trays due to rigidity. Recycling resin code # 7.

We generally recommended using RPET material due to a combination of its strength, clarity, recyclability, and price point. Of course, your industry has specific needs, and other materials may be better suited to satisfy your requirements. We will work with you to optimize material selection for your application!
